At this festive time, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the incredible work we’ve accomplished as a network in the field of medical education. This year NAMEM council achieved significant milestones together including expanding professional development opportunities and networks for our members. The success is reflected of the shared passion and expertise within our community of practice.
As we reach the close of another year, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to each of you for your unwavering commitment to excellence in medical education management. Your hard work, innovation and collaboration have been instrumental in driving progress across our organisations. I would like to acknowledgement and thank NAMEM council for their efforts, who steadily work behind the scenes utilising established and building new networks to share knowledge and good practice amongst the wider Medical Education community.
Despite many challenges faced within our working environments we have continued to promote NAMEM and delivered on many projects. I’m delighted with the progress council has made in taking forward the development of the website which is now the core area for all our bookings and finance, the MSc in Professional practice in affiliation with the University of Kent, a fantastic conference in Cheltenham and increase of new members joining the organisation – we must be doing something right!
The holidays remind us to pause and appreciate not only our professional successes also the connections we share. It is our colleagues, the students, the doctors who we support and educate who make this journey so meaningful. For now, let’s take the time to rest, recharge, and celebrate the season with those we hold dear. This is my 6th year as Chair and I still feel privileged and honoured to lead NAMEM into 2025. As I look ahead to 2025 with your continued dedication and passion, I am confident we will advance the field of medical education management even further, ensuring our work remains impactful and meaningful as we continue to innovate and nurture.
To council and members, I wish you all and your loved ones a joyous Christmas, a peaceful and healthy and prosperous New Year.
Take Care Sinead
NAMEM Chair
